The International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg That Tried 22 Senior Nazi Officials Between November 1945 and October 1946 and Hanged Ten of Them The International Military Tribunal opened on 20 November 1945 at the Palace of Justice in Nuremberg. The 22 defendants included Hermann Göring, Rudolf Hess, Joachim von Ribbentrop, and Albert Speer. The verdicts of 1 October 1946 convicted 19 of various combinations of war crimes, crimes against peace, and crimes against humanity. Ten were hanged on 16 October 1946.
