What was Doggerland?

From the story
Doggerland, the Drowned Country Beneath the North Sea, and the Tsunami That Finished It

Ten thousand years ago the North Sea was dry land: Doggerland, a vast plain of rivers and marshes joining Britain to the continent, home to Mesolithic hunter-gatherers whose tools trawlers still dredge up. Rising seas drowned it over millennia — and around 6150 BC the Storegga slide, a Norwegian submarine landslide, sent a tsunami over what remained.
